Gupta briefs CM about JJ clusters residents' ordeal

Staff Reporter

leader of Opposition Vijender Gupta on Friday gave representation to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal regarding injustice being meted out to residents of JJ clusters.

Gupta said he briefed Kejriwal that in 32 JJ clusters, there are 8563 jhuggies and more than 16,000 families living in here are awaiting allotment of flats.

“Out of these 4,134 JJ cluster families have deposited Rs 16.44 crore in the hope of getting roof of their own roof.  But not a single

family has been allotted a flat,” Gupta said.

He said these families had deposited Rs 70,000 each in 2013 by taking loan on high interest rate but it is sheer injustice to people belonging to weaker sections of society.

Gupta demanded immediate allotment of built-up flats to their rightful owners who fulfill conditions so that people living in JJ cluster could live a decent life. He warned the Government that BJP will come on roads to fight for the cause of JJ cluster dwellers.
