The BJP Government in Delhi will inaugurate and announce 75 programmes, schemes and projects of public welfare during the ‘Sewa Pakhwara’ to mark the birth anniversary of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said on Tuesday.

These schemes, programmes and projects of different departments to be launched, announced in the interest of the Delhi people, will be a “befitting reply” to those Opposition leaders who abused and insulted the Prime Minister and his mother, she told reporters.

The Sewa Pakhwara marking the 75th birth anniversary of Prime Minister Modi will be observed across the country from September 17 to October 2, she said.

Rekha Gupta also slammed the Opposition leaders for keeping mum over the insult to the Prime Minister and his mother, “What could be more low-grade politics than this that not a single Opposition politician has expressed regret over the incident.

The Chief Minister expressed her outrage at the recent controversial remarks of Opposition leaders. She said, “The use of derogatory language against the Prime Minister’s late mother not only lowers the standards of politics but also insults the entire womanhood. When a leader publicly abuses the sacred title of ‘mother’, it is an affront to the sanctity of motherhood itself. This represents politics at its lowest level. What is most regrettable is that, to this day, these leaders have neither apologised nor expressed any remorse.”

Prime Minister earlier in the day said he was deeply pained by the hurling of abuses at his mother during a ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ of Congress in Bihar.

Rekha Gupta, meanwhile, shared details about Modi’s birthday and the Seva Pakhwada. She stated that this Seva Pakhwada would not be a mere formal event but would ensure the implementation of schemes that deliver real benefits to the people.

The Chief Minister said, “We are commencing this Seva Pakhwada on the Prime Minister’s birthday. This event is a tribute to his dedication and selfless service, through which he has devoted every moment of his life to the nation’s development and progress. The Prime Minister Narendra Modi has never considered which party governs a particular State; he has always worked equally for every State and every citizen. In the same spirit, the Delhi Government is organising this Seva Pakhwada in his honour.”

The Delhi Government will inaugurate and launch a series of schemes during the Seva Pakhwada. These will include the inauguration of 150 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, an intensive sanitation drive (Delhi ko Kude se Azadi), the opening of five major hospitals, along with several important projects related to education, housing, transport and civic amenities.

All these initiatives will not only be linked to public welfare but will also advance our commitment to building a ‘Viksit Delhi’. She said that the Delhi Government, inspired by the leadership of the Prime Minister, is continuously moving forward on the path of service and development.
