Delhi Police launched a user-friendly mobile app and upgraded Delhi Traffic Police (DTP) website. The mobile app can help citizens in getting information about traffic snarls, report congestion, lodge complaints about TSRs, calculate fare of the TSRs and cabs and also give suggestions to improve the traffic in the national Capital. The mobile app was launched by lieutenant-Governor Najeeb Jung on Thursday.

Jung praised Delhi Police and expressed satisfaction over the functioning.  He appreciated the efforts of the Delhi Traffic Police and initiatives it had taken in maintaining the flow of city traffic.

While explaining how the app works, Joint Commissioner of Police, Traffic Anil Shukla said, the mobile application has been designed for easy download from Google Play store on Android mobile phones. This application will enable the public to utilise the e-services provided by Delhi Traffic Police in future as well.

BS Bassi, the Delhi Police Commissioner, enumerated the challenges of regulating the Capital’s traffic in today’s scenario and how well Delhi Traffic Police was ensuring high average speed despite saturated roads and heavy density of traffic. He also stressed on the need to make the lives of citizens easy by exploiting the latest advancements in technology and road safety. The police chief lauded the efforts of Delhi Traffic Police to facilitate dissemination of vital traffic information to public persons and obtained complaints and suggestions from them through electronic/web connectivity.
