A 23-year-old Chartered Accountant (CA) student has filed a rape case against her friend. The woman is a third-year CA student at a private institution. She has alleged that Ashish thrashed and raped her on several occasions.
According to police, the victim befriended Ashish four years ago when the accused was living in her house as a tenant. The culprit used to meet her on several occasions. The woman alleged that one day Ashish raped her and threatened her with dire consequences if she revealed the incident to anyone.
"On May 12 the accused reached her house and called her outside. The victim's mother went out and refused to let her meet him. The accused allegedly quarrelled with the woman. later the victim revealed her ordeal to family members," police said.
"A case has been registered in this regard at City Police Station under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Hunts are on to nab the culprit. Further investigation into the matter is underway," said Ravinder Kumar, public relations officer (PRO) of Gurugram police.
