GDA to install biometric machines to increase staff attendance

In order to instill efficacy among the rank and file, the top brass of Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) have operationalised the plan to install biometric machines equipped with data analyser device which will be linked with salary.

“After installation of this device the paper work would be shortened and the machine would determine the salary of the staff after analysing the average of the attendance of a particular person” claimed GDA Vice-Chairperson (VC) Kanchan Verma.

That will not only increase productivity of the staff but also contribute to decrease the work load on the authority, the Chairperson said.

“I have started to physically verify the  progress of the projects to ensure that the ongoing projects are completed on time. Today I inspected the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Project (DMRC) site and found the work was progressing satisfactorily. 70 per cent civil work and 30 per cent rail laying work has been completed. Financial constrains are being resolved. The central government share would reach to us after our revised Detailed Project Report (DPR) is approved by the state cabinet added the VC.

Other ongoing projects are also being monitores. The elevated road construction is being put on the fast track and the high tension lines are being removed by the transmission department of UPPCl which were impeding the progress in alignment of the road. The grade separator construction work which is yet to begin as the forest department has not cleared it. This project is likely to start in the current month itself, the VC added.

GDA has got the permission to cut 70 trees and once the grade separator is operational, the traffic jam problem at Meerut tri-junction would be solved, she said. The property evaluation work has valued  GDA’s assets to Rs2,200 crore  which would bail out the authority from the financial crunch.

To conclude we are working simultaneously on several fronts, right from increasing productivity, speeding up the works on sites, shortening procedures and solving financial constrains. “We would be able to deliver  projects on time under the present dispensation, the VC further said.
