Delhi Cabinet Minister Rajendra Pal Gautam and AAP chief spokesperson and MLA Saurabh Bhardwaj strongly condemned the recent “sexual assault” of a 19-year-old dalit girl at Hathras District of Uttar Pradesh.

Bhardwaj said that a 19-year-old girl, who belonged to the dalit community, was allegedly gang-raped by four upper-caste men in Hathras district of Uttar Pradesh. “The criminals also cut her tongue and attempted to murder by strangulating her. Her spinal injury is such that her hands and legs are paralyzed. Now she is admitted  in AIIMS and Delhi Cabinet Minister Rajendra Pal Gautam is in continuous touch with her family,” he said.

Explaining it further, he said “Today we have compiled a list of officials of 39 districts and we will show that all the important posts are with the people from Thakur community. From these districts, 46 topmost officials are from the Thakur community. In Uttar Pradesh, there are various other communities like Maurya community, Nishad, Bind, Kashyap, Jaat, Gujjar, Valmiki, Kurmi, Yadav and other communities. But after Aditynath came to power he has only promoted the Thakur community”.

Rajendra Pal Gautam said, "At first the Yogi government only registered a case under 307 of IPC but after the survivor came back to sense and due to the pressure from the Dalit community the government finally filed a case of gang rape.

He also demanded that the family of the survivor should be given Rs 1 crore financial compensation. “We also demand that the Uttar Pradesh government should take this matter in a fast track court and punish the criminals," he said.

“We have looked into the crimes that are happening in Uttar Pradesh, we have found that people of Scheduled Castes and Tribes, OBCs and Brahmin community are constantly being tortured. The morale of the people of a particular community is increasing because whenever the people associated with that community commit any crime, then no action is taken against them by the Yogi government and the police administration,” he said.
