In a bid to extend their support to the present police force, around 100 former top ranked police officers have created a new squad to mitigate fraud and criminal risks and have named it ‘Fourth Force.’

The squad will include a task force of highly experienced retired police officers from various Indian law enforcement agencies, including Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Research& Analysis Wing (RAW), Railway Protection Force (RPF) and State Police. Besides, it is set up to help in investigating and verifying the background of people across key business and industry helping further to reduce fraud and criminal intent.

“With the advent of Fourth Force, the scope for crimes and acts of fraud will drastically reduce,” said Special Commissioner of Police, Delhi Police, Vimla Mehra, on the launch of the squad. “With a thorough system of complete background verification of recruits, it is advantageous for the industries and the consumers on a long run,” added Mehra.

Adding more about the initiative, Chairman and Managing Director of Fourth Force, Saleem Ali, the former Special Director of the CBI said, “It will ensure that there is a thorough background check of the recruits especially in crucial industries like Banking, Financial services and Insurance (BFSI), Telecom, Information Technology Enabled Serrvice (ITES), retail, commercial and domestic.” The agency will include ex-police officers who have served a minimum of 35-40 years, Ali added.
