Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday welcomed former Minister and two times MLA from Goa Government Mahadev Naik in the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

Naik has been ‘Social Welfare Minister’ in Manohar Parrikar’s Government from 2012 to 2017. AAP senior leader Satyendar Jain said that Mahadev Naik has joined the party after being distressed by the current political situation in Goa.

Jain also said Naik was impressed by AAP’s Delhi model. “The similar work to improve basic amenities such as water, electricity, education, health, and public issues will be done in Goa just like it has been done in Delhi,” he said.

“Goa is one of the most beautiful places in the world. The people here are also very good but the bigoted leaders here have destroyed Goa. Saddened by the policies of Goa’s Government, people are joining the AAP. We will make a big difference within Goa this time. The AAP will form a Government in Goa and will work on improving amenities like water, electricity, education, health, and public issues,” he added.

AAP MLA Atishi who was also present on the occasion said that the kind of politics that is taking place in Goa is not in the interest of the people in the current politics of the state where MLAs are being sold and bought to form Governments.

Atishi further said that a large number of people have been joining AAP at village, panchayat and Assembly levels for the last one year due to failures of the Goa Government.

Naik thanked the national convener and Kejriwal for giving him a chance to work with the AAP. He further said that he has no doubt that the AAP Government will be formed in Goa in the near future.
