Afoetus was found buried next to a drain in south Delhi’s RK Puram on Monday.
According to a senior police official, the foetus was three to four months old and prima facie it looked like it was aborted.
“Some kids from a nearby jhuggi cluster in sector 6 of RK Puram was playing on the mud and digging when they discovered the baby foetus. The kids took it to their parents and they immediately made a PCR call,” said a police official.
A PCR van reached the spot and took the foetus to the nearby hospital. The foetus has been sent for post-mortem which is due for Tuesday.
“ The autopsy report will tell us whether the foetus was aborted naturally, surgically or medically. Based on that and further investigations, we will decide on registering a case in the matter,” said the official.
