The Delhi Police has arrested a 28-year-old poseur, Raju Mukherjee, who impersonated as a senior executive from Naukri.com to dupe job seekers, particularly girls, in the Capital. Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi district), SBS Tyagi said that the accused Raju was arrested on Monday evening near Deen Dayal Upadhayay Hospital. Police have recovered ten mobile phones from his possession which he had robbed from several persons.

The incident came to light on November 16 when the complainant — a Karishma Kapoor, student of Dayal Singh College — informed police she had received a call from a man who claimed to be an executive with Naukri.com.

“The victim told police the accused offered her a part-time job with a handsome salary and asked the girl for Rs 5,500 as interview fee. He later took the girl to a studio to get her photographs clicked for a form,” a police officer said, adding, the accused asked for her BlackBerry Torch and fled. A team formed under Inspector Mukesh Walia and Assistant Commissioner of Police (CP sub-division) Pawan Kumar led to his arrest.
