In a bizarre incident an attempt was made to claim the insurance policy of a doctor, who is alive and well, by furnishing a forged death certificate and slip of a cremation ground. The accused had even opened a fake bank account impersonating as the doctor's wife to claim the insurance amount, the police said. In connection with the incident an FIR under various Sections of the IPC was registered at the Sector-29 police station. A South City phase 1 resident Deepika Bhalla, stated in her police complaint that she was the nominee of her husband Dr Prashant Bhalla's PNB Met Life Insurance policy but somebody was trying to encash it fradulantly.
