A 46-year-old man was robbed off his belongings by two bike-borne assailants on Monday morning, police said on Tuesday. According to police, Rahul Verma, who runs a financial start-up in Gurgaon, was crossing Jamia Nagar in his car at 11.30 am when two bike-borne men told him that oil was leaking from his car.

“Two persons on a bike were pointing at the back of my car and telling me something. When I rolled the window down, they said oil was leaking from my car. My driver immediately parked the car on the road side and we got out of the car to check the leaking. The two persons took my bag, which was on the back seat and fled from the spot,” alleged Verma.

The victim filed a complaint at Jamia Nagar police station. The stolen bag had his passport, Dell laptop, `2,000 cash, two Nokia Microsoft mobile sets, credit cards, home keys, a kindle tab and a bank internet device.

“It is sad but I can’t trust my own countrymen. This incident has shocked me. The time I was robbed, there were many people in the locality but no one cared to help or assist me,” said Verma. The complainant also mentioned about the incident on Facebook and Twitter.
