The eighth accused involved in the murder case of a labour union leader Harkrishna Gupta in Kolkata was arrested by the Crime Branch of Delhi Police. The accused was evading arrest from the last seven years.

“He was identified as Sheikh Tanvir Bhutto alias Badshah (28). Seven of the alleged assailants had been arrested in the case. He shifted to Delhi in 2011 and took up a job in a travel agency,” said Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Ashok Chand.

Gupta, alias Krishna, was murdered by seven hired criminals in Kolkata in 2008. A team was formed under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Bhisham Singh. On Wednesday, information was received that the assassin involved in the murder would come to Ashram Chowk. A trap was laid and the assassin was apprehended.
