The Election Commission of India (ECI) said it will examine the verdict of the Delhi High Court setting aside an order appointing 21 AAP MlAs as Parliamentary Secretaries to ascertain whether it will have an impact on a case being heard by it seeking the disqualification of the lawmakers for allegedly holding office of profit.
“We will have to study whether the High Court order has been issued on a retrospective basis. Only then can the commission decide whether it will have an impact on the ongoing cases of disqualification against the MlAs,” a senior functionary said.
