Ghaziabad Police on Tuesday said the two accused in the Govindpuram firing have been identified and raids are being conducted at their possible hideouts.
A senior police official said the duo was identified from the CCTV footage of Gaur Home Society. Police is also seeking the help of residents of Gaur Homes as the gunmen were last seen on the 11th floor of the tower. They are also trying to trace the owner of the car which was used by the perpetrators. The car had a parking sticker of the apartment complex.
“We are searching every nook and cranny of the area and that is a time-taking process. We have formed several teams keeping close vigil in the area. Two persons were seen in the CCTV footage and we are trying to get details about them,” said Shivshankar Yadav, Superintendent of Police (City), Ghaziabad.
Three unidentified miscreants in a white Hyundai Verna shot at two police constables in the Govindpuram area on Monday. The cops, on patrolling duty in the area, approached them finding them suspicious. But the men fled in an auto and fired at the police constables who were in pursuit. After reaching Gaur Homes, they jumped off from the auto and rushed towards the parking in the basement and have remained traceless since.
