As the Delhi University has concluded the re-appropriation of seats in its colleges under the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme it will now proceed with the request of final proposals of colleges to start new courses in the diciplines which were only offered in pass courses earlier. The university wound up discussions with representatives of 62 colleges, except the Institute of Home Economics and lady Irwin College of the total of 64 colleges.

“The criteria set for the distribution of seats from pass courses to honours courses was that the seats of a particular discipline would be retained in the same stream, for instance seats of BSc programme would be distributed in science diciplines such as physics, chemistry and Biology only and not in Arts courses. There are majority of colleges who had pass courses in a particular dicipline but could not utilise the seats of it as they did not have any honours courses from the same dicipline. Thus, they have been directed to present a proposal on the same as such colleges need to begin honours courses in those diciplines,” said Umesh Rai the director of the South Campus.   SR
