Delhi Public School Vasundhara, Ghaziabad, shunted out a student after her father filed a petition at Allahabad High Court against arbitrarily hike in tuition fees.

On Friday, when student Ananya Bhatnagar reached school for her regular classes, she was called to the administrative office and handed over her transfer certificate by her class teacher, asking her to leave the school. The seventh class student was stunned to see the Transfer Certificate. The school authorities could not be contacted because of Saturday and Sunday being off days. When Ananya went to school on Monday, she was stopped at the main gate.

After her father, Neeraj Bhatnagar, an officer-bearer of Abhibhavak Sangh, contacted the school principal, he was asked to stay outside.

In the meantime her father reached the school along with other parents and again sought appointment with principal who again refused to entertain them. later, the parents staged a dharna outside the school gate which continued till the school was closed.

“We will protest the illegal act of the school with full strength on Tuesday and would file a complaint against the school against its authoritarian attitude. This illegal act would ruin the life of the student in a midsession transfer,” said the father Neeraj Bhatnagar.

“The school management bluntly refused to accept the student back in the school. It said her father “defamed” the school by filing a petition, how can we keep the child of such a notorious father,” sources in school management.

Recently a student Priyanshi committed suicide over fee pressure such tendencies of schools are harmful to the stressed society,” said academician Prof TP Singh.
