Tis Hazari Court on Monday postponed hearing on the bail applications of dismissed station house officer (SHO) of Vijay Vihar police station to Tuesday. The SHO Dinesh Kumar was dismissed on Sunday from his service from the Delhi Police on the alleged charges of abetting the suicide of a 25-year-old woman.
Kumar was arrested on Saturday under the charge of abetting suicide after the woman — believed to be close to a criminal in Vijay Vihar area — allegedly committed suicide outside Tis Hazari court complex in North Delhi, leaving behind a suicide note and a five-page complaint against the inspector accusing him of torturing and harassing her.
“Keeping in view the seriousness of the case and above all the implication of such an act, for a disciplined force and sensitivity of the matter, I, Sanjay Singh, Joint Commissioner of Police, Northern Range, Delhi do hereby dismiss inspector Dinesh Kumar, ” the dismissal order said.
