To settle cases of direct power theft and meter tampering on-the-spot, Tata Power Delhi Distribution limited (Tata Power-DDl), in association with ‘Delhi State legal Services Authority’ (DSlSA) will organise a special ‘lok Adalat’ on Saturday from 10 am onwards at Tis Hazari Court.
The lok Adalat will provide Tata Power-DDl customers residing in north and north-west Delhi, an opportunity to settle their power theft cases on-the-spot. “Cases that are either pending in any Court of law or are yet to be filed will be taken up by the lok Adalat. Customers desirous of settling their power theft cases can either attend in person or through their advocates carrying authorisation letter, photo ID and a copy of their theft bill,” a senior Tata Power-DDl official said.
The official further said that post ‘settlement orders’, customers will be given sufficient time to pay their bills. Consumers after reaching Tis Hazari Court complex can approach our felicitation centre (Near Central Hall) for registration and help. “In case of a default, the company will be compelled to initiate criminal proceedings against these consumers under the relevant provision of electricity act, 2003,” he said.
