Delhi Govt to come up with plan to clear mess

Staff Reporter

Amid protests by MCD workers over non-payment of salaries Delhi Government is planning to come up with an arrangement through which entire Capital will be cleaned easily.

“I want to assure Delhiites that we will not let them live amidst the garbage. The Government on its own will make Delhi a clean city. People won’t have to face the problem this time due to the strike by sanitation workers,” said Delhi Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra on Friday

He said, “Delhi Government-led by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is making alternative arrangements to lift garbage.”

“The plan will be released soon,” added Mishra.

Mishra accused the BJP-led civic bodies of engaging in ‘salary scam’ due to which they have not been able to pay the sanitation workers despite Delhi Government having released money for that purpose.

Mishra said, “We challenge MCD to declare how much fund they received last year, last to last year and this year. Where has that money goneIJ” Mishra also took a dig at mayors of three corporations and said, “MCD says that they have no funds to pay salaries to the workers but the three mayors do have money for fuel and to enjoy lavish lifestyle.”

He demanded MCD to make their account public including the fund given by Delhi Government and taxes collected by MCD.
