Cornered Cong playing a dirty game: Goel

SR

Delhi BJP president Vijay Goel on Thursday alleged that the case filed by a woman against his party MlA Ramesh Bidhuri was politically motivated with an attempt to malign the image of the Opposition.

Bidhuri has been accused of misbehavior and outraging the modesty of a woman employee of the Delhi Secretariat.

Stating that false cases are being registered against BJP leaders to divert the attention of common man from burning issues including corruption, price rise, scarcity of water and hike in power tariff, Goel said Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit was working with mala fide intention.

Addressing a Press conference, Goel said in view of the forthcoming elections, the Delhi Government is conspiring to defame the BJP. “This FIR is result of a well-planned conspiracy. This is the incident of March 7 and FIR was filed after five days. It shows that the FIR against BJP MlA is politically motivated. If the woman was harassed, she should have filed FIR the next day itself,” he said, adding that the CM did not try even once to know the legislator’s side of the story.

If an elected legislator finds Ministers missing from their offices and goes to the Secretariat employee concerned with a public complaint and his misbehaved with, has the legislator no right to convey his point, he asked. “CM is enraged because BJP has been raising its voice for women’s security in the Capital after the December 16 gang-rape incident,” he said.

He further alleged that the woman employee was pressurised to lodge the FIR against the BJP MlA. “It is surprising that when both the woman employee and the legislator made complaints in the department, the department only forwarded the complaint of the woman to the Police Station,” he added.
