Cong for removal of AAP MLA in doc's suicide case

Staff Reporter

After a Delhi court on Thursday framed charges of abetment of suicide against AAP MLA Prakash Jarwal in connection with the suicide of a doctor, Delhi Congress  demanded the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to remove the MLA from the party with immediate effect.

Delhi Congress president Anil Kumar said that if Kejriwal has any moral left in him, he should immediately remove Narwal from the party.

When Jarwal’s name cropped up in connection with the suicide of Dr Singh, Delhi Congress had demanded his expulsion from the AAP and disfranchise him as an MLA, he said, adding that Jarwal was one of the many MLAs and Ministers in the Arvind team, including former Ministers Sandip Kumar, Amanatullah Khan, Mohinder Goel, Prakash Jarwal, Jarnail Singh, Dinesh Mohania and Somnath Bharti, who have indulged in criminal activities, including domestic violence, sexual assaults, corruption, intimidation and assault of the Delhi Chief Secretary in the presence of Chief Minister Arvind at his official residence, but still they continue to remain part of AAP  due to the protection given by the Chief Minister .

Kumar further said that Arvind had promised in his election manifesto that his first task would be to implement the Jan Lokpal. “If it would have done, most of the AAP MLAs and Ministers would have been behind the bars.

He said that corruption has become all-pervading in the Arvind Government so much so that the Delhi Jal Board, which was making profits when Congress was in power, is now under heavy loss due to corruption.

The Congress leader further said that with time, the self-manipulated ‘halo’ around CM Arvind is being unmasked, as his one-man party is a façade to indulge in corruption, and he has filled his party with the most corrupt politicians.

Meanwhile, Delhi BJP Spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor has written to Delhi Chief Minister, demanding an action against the MLA.
