Delhi Congress president Anil Kumar demanded the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Government to consider scrapping a new liquor policy in the national Capital.

Kumar said that the Delhi High Court has asked the AAP Government to consider scrapping the law for home delivery of liquor in the new liquor policy. “The court made this observation while hearing a petition questioning the AAP Government’s move to make home delivery of liquor, and asked for the Government’s response by September 24, 2021,” he said.

“Delhi Chief Minister Arvind has been touring poll-bound States like Uttarakhand and Goa, offering free power up to 300 units, and unemployment allowance ranging from Rs  5000 to Rs 3000 per month, while the youth of Delhi are getting no such financial relief despite suffering job loss, loss of livelihoods after the Covid-19 pandemic ravaged their lives, with most families losing one or more members to the pandemic, and some families losing their sole breadwinners,” he said.

Meanwhile Delhi Congress vice-president Jai Kishan said that a ‘dalit’ mahapanchayat on 25th September will be organized to protest against rising number of crime and atrocities against people belonging to the ‘dalit’ community.

“The centre and the AAP government in Delhi have turned a blind eye towards the plights of the marginalized community. Thousands of intellectuals from dalit organizations of dozens of states including Delhi will participate in large number to protest against both the governments,” he said.
