Delhi State president of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Manoj Tiwari claimed on Friday that the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) are losing ground and the result of Rajouri Garden Assembly bypoll is testimony to it.
Tiwari welcomed AAP and Congress men into the party fold who joined BJP on Friday.
“The analysis of the result of the Rajouri Garden Vidhan Sabha by-election shows that it is a situation where both parties stand nowhere in Delhi politics,” Tiwari said.
Former Congress media councilor Harsh Sharma, Shiv Kumar Sondhi who had contested Delhi Assembly polls in 1998 and 2003 on Congress ticket, Rajan Barara general secretary Karol Bagh district Congress, Raju Rawal block president of Congress in Janakpuri joined BJP. Shams Sharma, an AAP activist, also joined BJP.
Tiwari said there is a total disenchantment amongst the workers of AAP and Congress and everyday workers from these parties are approaching the leadership for joining BJP.
“The way Arvind Kejriwal has gone into shell shows that he takes responsibility of success only not defeats. While Ajay Maken is happy to bask in false glory despite knowing the fact that even the people living in his neighborhood don’t support him,” Tiwari added.
“The candidate of the AAP has lost his security deposit while the Congress candidate Meenakshi Chandela has lost not only in the ward she lives but even on the polling booth of Rajouri Garden Vidhan Sabha where Maken resides. It clearly establishes that Congress has lost all connect with the people,” he added.
He also said the allegations leveled by Babarpur district Mahila Congress president Rachna Sachdeva against Maken and other leaders of Mahila Congress of torture and harassment speaks volumes on Congress culture.
