Heavy police deployment was witnessed across Khajoor Khas area till late on Friday evening. The police said that at about 2.30 am on Friday, a truck bearing Haryana registration number allegedly carrying skins of some domestic animals was intercepted by the local police on a tip-off reportedly given by an ultra right-wing group. The members of the ultra right-wing allegedly gathered at the police station demanding the action against the people nabbed with the animal skins. By the time senior police officials reached the spot, the members gathered outside a mosque located near the police station and started raising slogans.

Around 1 pm, the stone pelting started from one side and soon the clash broke out between the people of two communities during which two motorcycles were set afire. It was only after heavy force was deployed and senior police officers assured prompt action that the crowd dispersed. The police added that two cases have been registered — one in connection with the recovery of animal skins and the other for rioting against unknown persons.
