CM discusses Chautala, land with Rajnath Singh

Staff Reporter

Amidst the AAP Government’s tussle with the Delhi lieutenant-Governor, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and discussed with him various issues concerning the national Capital.

The 20-minute meeting came a day after lieutenant-Governor Najeeb Jung met the Home Minister. On Wednesday evening, Jung met Singh and reported to have briefed him about fresh tussle with the AAP Government on the issue of parole to former Haryana Chief Minister OP Chautala.

The ongoing tussle between Jung and the AAP Government over issues, like granting of parole to Chautala and allotment of land to BJP for constructing a building for party office, were also believed to have figured at the meeting, sources said.

AAP has been alleging that Jung was showing “undue interest” in parole for Chautala, a charge which the l-G dismissed saying the former Haryana CM’s parole plea was rejected on October 5. Also, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has accused Jung of allotting land earmarked for a school to the BJP for the purpose of building its party office, wondering what “forced” the l-G to take such a step.
