Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday accused the Central Government of cheating the hundreds of residents living in the unauthorised colonies “again” by not providing registration of properties to all of them.
Kejriwal assured the people that his Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Government will do it, while addressing a large number of gatherings.
“What happened to registry? People living in unauthorised colonies have been cheated again. People expected the registry to start today.
“Earlier Congress used to make false promises, now BJP did the same. But do not worry. We got all the development works done in unauthorised colonies, now they will also get the registry done,” Kejriwal said in a tweet.
“We have completed all the developmental work in the unauthorised colonies and now our Government will also help the people get their house and lands registration done. I hoped that today people will start getting permanent registrations for their land but they were cheated again. First, it was Congress, now it is BJP,” said Kejriwal while inaugurating the installations work of pipeline and sewer in the unauthorised colonies of Sonia Vihar and Shree Ram Colony.
He said, “Everyone in this colony were very worried due to the open flowing drain here and the people always requested cleaning and a solution for this drain. I am very happy to announce that the work to clean this drainage will start soon and the pipeline and sewer work in Sonia Vihar and Shree Ram Colony will also begin soon.”
Kejriwal said, “Out of the 17,97 colonies, we have constructed proper sewage systems, roads, sewer, and water pipelines and CCTV cameras in 1,281 colonies in the last five years. If we could do it in five years, why could they not do it in 70 years? They did not have the intention to work for these colonies. I am happy that all the development work is being done in the unauthorised colonies. We sent a proposal to the Central Government to legalise the unauthorised colonies immediately after the formation of our Government in 2015. They did not do anything for five years, and now they are reminded about it just three months before the Assembly elections.”
“Our Hon’ble Prime Minister gave a speech at Ramlila Maidan today. I had expected out of the event at Ramlila Maidan that they will begin the registration process like they were claiming for the last six months. But, again they did not do it. BJP leaders were claiming that 100 property owners will receive registration papers before the Assembly elections, and the rest will receive registration after the elections. Now they say that the registration process will happen after six months. BJP is deceiving the people just like Congress,” he said.
Assuring the people, he added, “Arvind Kejriwal belongs to you, and it is because I live amongst you instead of flying in private jets that I know your needs and wants. That is how I know and ensure that roads are constructed, sewer pipelines are installed, drains are cleaned and CCTV cameras are installed. No other government has made free provisions of power, water, bus-rides, treatments in schools and hospitals. All of this is only because you all have voted for an honest and non-corrupt government, who does not dupe people for money. It is your love that will take us forward and take us beyond 67 seats in the last win,” said Delhi CM assuring the people.
