SP Singh

The Investigating Officer (IO) of sensational Aarushi-Hemraj double murder case admitted before the special court at Ghaziabad that he had never come across such a surgical instrument that could have been used to severe the throats of Aarushi and Hemraj. AGl Kaul, the Additional SP with Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) who investigated the case was replying during the cross-examination by defence counsel. The IO, however, stood by the closure report that he had submitted before the court.

Manoj Sishodia, the counsel for Deepak and Nupur Talwar later said that the IO reiterated that he did not find any evidence against Talwar couple. The IO said that ‘during ultra violate light test’ no evidence was found that could suggest whether any blood stains were removed or washed from any portion of the crime scene after the crime was reported to the police.

Kaul in his testimony bore the court on Tuesday had told the court that there were circumstantial evidences to suggest that Nupur and Rajesh Talwar had murdered their daughter. There was no sign or evidence of any outside entry and the three servants had nothing to do with the murders of the teenaged daughter and the servant of Talwars, the IO had said.

Kaul had further added in the closure report since there was no direct evidence against the Talwars, so the agency had to submit the closure report. But when court found that the circumstantial evidences could not be ignored, the investigation agency submitted further details in support of their arguments. The court of Special judge CBI S lal adjourned the hearing for April 18.

The defence counsel said they would cross-examine the IO on Thursday also on 13 points raised in the closure report.
