Inspector  Tyagi was caught red handed by the anti-corruption unit of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) while demanding and accepting an illegal gratification of Rs  two lakh.

Notably, Saket district court had referred 47 cases related to Unitech to the Saket police station for investigation. There are allegations that the accused were paying bribe to the SHO to settle cases.

The agency has named  9 persons, including Ramesh Chandra , his son Ajay Chandra, a lawyer Neeraj Walia, SHO Neeraj Kumar, Upma Chandra, Seema Manga, Pradeep Kumar and Unitech limited in the FIR.

Tyagi and a lawyer Neeraj Walia were arrested by the CBI for allegedly taking a bribe to settle 47 cases against real estate company Unitech limited and it founder Ramesh Chandra and his son Ajay Chandra.  CBI sleuths carried out silumtaneous raids after arresting the duo.

I would be pertinent to mention here that Tyagi was posted as SHO Saket Police Station around, some two years ago during the tenure of then Delhi Police Commissioner Alok Kumar Verma, the current Director CBI.
