The call detail records (CDR) of 30-year-old Mohammed Nadeem, the two sons of MlA’s first wife, helped investigators decode the mystery behind the planned murder of 42-year-old Rehana Chaudhary, the slain wife of BSP MlA Haji Aleem Chaudhary in UP.
Police sources said a special team formed by North East district police scanned the CDR of all the suspects and managed to cull the conspirators from a labyrinth of suspects. They suspected the involvement of an insider in the murder of Rehana after they discovered that a day earlier, Anas had come to Delhi to drop his father, but took sometime to unravel the mystery since they wanted to be doubly sure about the motive.
Sources said that the role of the two sons of MlA’s first wife came under radar as the probe progressed. They raise suspicion when the absconding brothers, Danish and Anas, did not attend their stepmother’s funeral. “A special team of Delhi Police was present during the burial. We started scanning the CDR of Danish and Anas when we came to know that they were not present in the ceremony,” police sources said, after scanning the CDR, gumshoes found that Danish was in constant touch with Mohd Nadeem, who worked as a chauffeur for Arif, Danish’s friend and business partner. On October 8, their mobile was traced to New Jafrabad.
After establishing crucial technical evidence, Danish and his younger brother were asked to join the investigation along with their father but they escaped from home. “Nadeem told police that Danish knew that Rehana would not open the door for him and as per plan, he first sent Anas to Rehana’s house. Nadeem and Danish barged into the house and killed her,” police sources added.
After killing Rehana, Nadeem first dropped Danish at New Delhi Railway Station in Paharganj and then left his younger brother at Dasna toll plaza. He later left the car at their residence in Bulandshahr.
