'Burial of ex-IAS officer's wife's body violated sale deed'

Additional District Magistrate (ADM) City has reported violation of rules in the burial of the body of the wife of a retired IAS officer in her residential premises in Indirapuram on June 4 last. ADM City Preeti Jaiswal found the violation of clause (4) of sale deed executed by the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) in the name of Shiela Gaur, wife of Tulsi Gaur.

District Magistrate (DM) Ministhy Nair had asked Preeti Jaiswal to conduct an enquiry after residents had lodged a strong protest over the issue. “The burial of the body is the religious act so it violates the clause (4) of sale deed,” Preeti Jaiswal told The Pioneer.

Meanwhile, officials in the  GDA claimed that the plot was sold in the name of Sheila Gaur as residential. Although the land use restricted the land owner to use it only for residential purposes but they did not mention specifically the list of violations. However, after GDA officials sent the file to the ADM city, she found the violation of clause (4) which specifically states the allottee  can not use the plot other than residential purposes and further mentioned that the allottee can not use it for religious purpose.

Earlier the GDA official claimed that plot allotment conditions restricts for residential usage. However, in a case of burial of a body of a family member the allotment condition is silent. So apparently it sees no violation ,GDA officials conveyed it to ADM City.

The ADM City had to face a tough time in convincing the angry residents after they objected to the burial in his residential premises E-170 in Shakti Khand in Indirapuram.

The retired officer had buried his wife as his wife had willed to be buried in her residential premises. When residents objected, Gaur reportedly told them that he was committed to fulfil her last wish. If anybody has problem he is free to go to the court of law where he is ready to face the case.
