The Delhi Police will soon question Ramanjeet Kaur, who was hit with a brick by a traffic head constable and probe her role in ‘instigating’ the policeman to a fight despite jumping the red light. The investigators have found that the woman was not having the scooter’s registration copy (RC) and driving licence, which the head constable Satish Chand had asked her to show.
Police said they had not yet received any papers of the vehicle from her family despite the repeated reminders to them. Police also found that her MlC report suggested no injury to her body still she was being treated at a private hospital in Central Delhi for two days.
The investigations into the case took an interesting turn after police got an audio tape in which the woman is purportedly abusing the policeman and instigating him. According to a senior officer they might call her for questioning soon in connection with the case. “We will probe the matter in all angles and each aspect in the case will be thoroughly probed,” said the officer.
So far, the family has failed to show the RC of the scooter and Ramanjeet Kaur’s driving licence that were asked for by the head constable when she jumped the red light at Golf links on Monday morning. The woman’s family had claimed that she was carrying the papers but the argument broke out after the head constable demanded Rs200 from the woman. Police suspected that the woman did not have the driving licence.
Meanwhile, police also found that the woman was being treated at Primus Hospital in Chanakyapuri in Central Delhi despite her MlC (Medico-legal Certificate) says that she was ‘completely fit’. The MlC report was received by police from Ram Manohar lohia Hospital.
Dr KK Mishra who treated Kaur in Primus Hospital told The Pioneer that she was clinically fit and has been discharged from the hospital. “We took her under observation for 48 hours as she had complained of pain in her waist. The X-ray was conducted on her hand and no fracture was scanned,” he said.
