Brace for a hot, cruel summer

SR

Delhiites witnessed a hot and humid weather on Monday as the mercury climbed the ladder to touch a maximum of 41.2°C. While the clouds played hide-and-seek throughout the day, the Met Department has predicted similar weather on Tuesday. Monsoon season is expected only after June 18 in the city.

The high humidity levels and temperature caused discomfort to the city dwellers as they had to sweat it out in the sultry weather conditions. According to the Met Department, humidity levels were recorded between 37 per cent and 61 per cent during the day and the maximum temperature was recorded at 41.2°C, two notches above normal. There was also possibility of partly cloudy sky with rain or thunderstorms between June 19-June 20.
