Claiming that the BJP Government at the Centre has made a “solid opening”, Home Minister Rajnath Singh said on Monday that its “scorecard” after five years in power will also be equally impressive.

“Normally after five years in power, there is this anti-incumbency. But it won’t be there after the BJP Government completes its term,” said Singh as he presided over the release of four books related to the life of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, three of them written by PM Modi.

“I can say that the opening is solid because after he spent 12-13 years as the Chief Minister of Gujarat, people understood that this man should be the Prime Minister of India and should do for the nation what he had been doing for his State,” added Singh.

BJP president Amit Shah, too was present during the launch of the four books published by Prabhat Prakashan: Jyotipunj, Social Harmony and Sakshi Bhav written by PM Modi, and ‘Modi: Common Man’s PM’ by Kishor Makwana.

Talking about the journey of PM Modi, Amit Shah said while the whole world knows him and is familiar with his name today. Many people did not know about the 40 years of sacrifice and struggle behind it. “A few people know the boy who left his home giving up what could have been a promising and comfortable life and dedicated it to the nation by adopting Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS). From being a social worker to being a CM and then finally a PM, he has and will have many contributions. But another of his important contribution is of making BJP into a formidable force that it is today by working at the grassroot level,” he said adding that after 40 years of sacrifice, he has the same passion to serve the nation.

Talking about the books that were released at NDMC Convention Centre here, Rajnath Singh said these writings by the Prime Minister will inspire youth and lead them in their lives.

Talking about Narendra Modi’s social harmony, he said, “Social Harmony is not something that we have learned from some book, it’s in our culture. Peaceful coexistence and social harmony are part of the DNA of Indian people. And I can confidently say even our NDA alliance has the same DNA. That’s the reason that despite getting a clear majority, we decided to form the Government along with our allies.”

Amit Shah added that “social harmony” is not just a term that PM Modi wrote about, but he has lived this ideology throughout his life.

About Jyotipunj, Shah said it’s a tribute to those men who have lived a life of service even in this modern world and have sacrificed each and every part of their lives to the Sangh (RSS) and the nation. “There have been so many books written about people who died for the nation, but PM Modi is the first man who wrote about those who lived each and every day of their lives for it,” he said. The third book by PM Modi titled Sakshi Bhav is actually remnants of his diary most of which he sacrificed in the fire.

Talking about Modi: Common Man’s PM, Rajnath Singh said it was because the common man saw the common man in Narendra Modi, that’s why for the first time a non-Congress Government was given such a human mandate. “That shows that the common man actually looks at himself when he looks at the PM. PM Modi is truly a common man’s Prime Minister,” he said.

The event also saw the launch of the books in electronic format as all the four books will be available on mobile platform. “This is in line with PM Modi’s dream of Digital India,” said Prabhat Kumar, publisher, Prabhat Prakashan.
