The body of an unidentified woman, in her mid 20’s was found wrapped in a plastic bag in a field in southwest Delhi's Sagarpur area on Tuesday.
According to Devendra Arya, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), South-West district, the police was informed about the unidentified body lying wrapped in a plastic bag near Lal Bharat Ghar at around 10 am.
A senior police official privy to investigation said that the jewelry was found intact on the woman body. "There were marks of strangulation on the woman's body. Police have kept the body in the morgue. Further police teams have been formed to identify the woman," said the police official.
"The crime team visited the spot and police have also registered a case of murder. Police teams are looking for CCTV footage in the area to identify the accused and to know the crime sequence," said the police official adding that inquest proceedings have been launched and the body will be sent for autopsy once the body is identified.
