BJP to burlesque AAP's politics

With the Aam Aadmi Party back to antics and the BJP sensing fresh elections in the near future, the party has sharpened its attack on AAP and its leaders using social media. The BJP will be coming out with a series of caricatures, jokes, couplets, photographs and cartoons to ridicule the party, its leaders and their ‘U-turns’ over various issues. The idea is to expose AAP and its ‘misdeeds’ at a time when another election in the Capital has become imminent.

“The BJP will be forming a team on social media to take on Kejriwal, his false promises, his U-turns and his doublespeak over various issues,” said a Delhi BJP leader. “None of the promises made by Kejriwal has been fulfilled. Instead, the AAP and its leaders have made goof-ups and U-turns on all issues. Through comic strips and photographs we will bring before the public the real face of the party,” he said.

Sources said, Kejriwal’s frequent dharnas, the tumultuous run of his 49-day Government in Delhi, his latest antics of two-day jail, his much-criticised ‘hit-and-run’ style of politics, AAP’s drubbing in the lok Sabha elections and the party’s ‘anarchic’ style of functioning will be highlighted through the comics. “We will expose Kejriwal’s dharna seeking action against Delhi policemen, Kejriwal’s U-turn on criminal action against former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and Congress leaders, his flop show as Delhi Chief Minister,” a party leader said, adding the party leaders would also visit every household and tell them how Kejriwal’s ‘fight against corruption’ was confined to the Opposition of BJP and its leaders.

Party leadership feels that comics help to highlight serious issue in lighter way. “Through these issues we will tell people how Kejriwal and his party have been misleading people on serious issues concerning common men. Comics will help us to raise the issue in a creative in and interesting way,” said a leader. Earlier, during the Assembly Polls last year, the BJP had also launched a 15-page comic titled Sheila Ke Karname (Sheila’s Misdeeds) to expose the alleged corruption and the 15-year ‘misrule’ of the Congress Government in Delhi.
