Attacking Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his party for applying double standards on the issue of Dalits, Delhi BJP on Thursday highlighted the plight of a family who lost their son posted as a doctor with Chacha Nehru hospital under the Delhi Government. The family has been running from pillar to post urging the Delhi Government for compensation but to no avail.

“Delhi Chief Minister pursues a very insensitive politics, all his acts are politically motivated and his Thursday visit to Hyderabad is another such act.  Kejriwal is travelling on Government expenses to Hyderabad to sympathise with a family and friends of a student who died there to earn political browny points. However, he has constantly avoided meeting the Dalit family of Dr Dinesh who lost his life after getting swine flu on duty at a Delhi Government Hospital,” said Ashish Sood, General Secretary of Delhi BJP.

The family of Dr Dinesh, whose father Bhup Singh and other family members said they have been subjected to extreme humiliation to get compensation.

“Despite multiple requests the Delhi Chief Minister has not granted them audience. To make matter even worse, Swati Maliwal, the Head of Public Grievance Cell, repeatedly humiliated us whenever we went with our requests for relief or meeting with the Chief Minister,” said victim’s father Bhup Singh.

Dr Dinesh’s brother and sister too narrated their bad experiences with the Kejriwal Government.  “My brother died due to swine flu. He died because he was not given vaccines by the Delhi Government. All the Delhi Government doctors are supposed to get vaccines. We demand compensation and Government job for his wife too. Nobody from the Delhi Government has paid heed to us in the last one year,” said Dinesh’s brother.
