The Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) manifesto committee on Thursday, held a meeting with representatives of Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) at the New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) Convention Center. The meeting focused on gathering suggestions from local residents for the party’s upcoming manifesto, ahead of the Delhi Assembly poll in 2025.

Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva addressed the gathering and highlighted the vital role RWAs play in shaping Delhi’s development. He criticised the Kejriwal-led government for failing to deliver on key issues such as road conditions, sewage systems, electricity prices, and water quality.

“The air in Delhi is toxic, yet the Kejriwal government has not acted. Rs 1,000 crore in surcharges have been collected with no effective measures against pollution,” Sachdeva said, stressing the importance of long-term planning. He stated that the BJP’s vision extends not just to 2025 but to 2050, with plans to bring every necessary facility directly to residents' homes.

To ensure widespread public input, Sachdeva announced that 14 mobile vans would travel across Delhi’s 14 districts to collect suggestions from residents. "Our sole agenda is to build a better Delhi," he added.

BJP manifesto committee convener and south Delhi BJP MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri emphasised BJP’s commitment to engaging with various sections of society to understand their needs and challenges. He also criticised the Kejriwal government’s handling of pollution, pointing to Delhi’s deteriorating transport system, road dust, and high reliance on diesel and petrol vehicles as key contributors. He mentioned that the Modi government had provided 1,600 electric buses to help mitigate the issue.
