Delhi BJP president Satish Upadhyay, general secretary and South Delhi MP Ramesh Bidhuri and senior MlA Jagdish Mukhi met the Union Power Minister Piyush Goyal on Monday to seek subsidy on power tariff for Delhiites. Besides, the leaders also demanded that Goyal should issue directions to the distribution companies to stop undeclared power cuts and work towards strengthening the power supply infrastructure with the help of Rs200 crore allocated in the Central Budget. Meanwhile, Bidhuri also met Delhi Chief Secretary SK Srivastava and apprised him of other issues in the Capital like ensuring water connection to all residing in his constituency. “There is no provision to provide connection to an individual. The Government has given the reason that colonies come under forest land and the provisions under the Forest Act don’t allow them to provide the connections. However, the colonies are there since 1983 whereas the Forest Act came into effect in 1986,” added Bidhuri.
