BJP demands CM's resignation

Coming down heavily on the Delhi Government over the sacking of Cabinet Minister Asim Ahmed Khan on Friday, Delhi BJP demanded immediate resignation of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and said the development highlights the dire need for immediate implementation of appointment of lokayukta and Jan lokpal Bill.

"Delhi has not witnessed such anarchy, corruption by MlAs during the last 68 years as being seen under the tenure of the Kejriwal Government. This dismissal is only deception. The Chief Minister should immediately dismiss him from the Aam Aadmi Party and legislative Assembly and recommend his arrest by the Delhi Police or he should resign himself. Asim Ahmed Khan's role in Onion Scam and the killing of a youth Shehzad at Turkman Gate need to be probed," said Delhi BJP chief Satish Upadhyay.

Upadhyay said this is not the first case of corruption by MlAs of Aam Aadmi Party. "Previously Rakhi Bidlan and other MlAs have been accused of bungling in street light work. MlAs have also been accused of accepting costly gifts. Similarly, there have been incidents of anarchist behaviour by MlAs and only a day before Thursday leader of the Opposition Vijender Gupta had exposed a big bungling under the Delhi Jal Board," he added.

"The sacking highlights the need for immediate implementation of appointment of lokayukta and Jan lokpal Bill. But it appears that contrary to the assertion of the Chief Minister that he brooks no corruption, he has been fighting against implementation of these two biggest instruments of fighting corruption," said leader of Opposition Vijender Gupta.
