Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari has blamed the Delhi Government’s callousness for the power and water shortage in the city. Tiwari was speaking to reporters outside the residence of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday after leading a protest by the BJP workers.
“The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Government has failed the people of Delhi. Be it as a administrator by not preparing a Summer Action Plan for distribution of power and water nor appointing chairperson in Delhi Electric Regulatory Commission (DERC) on one hand and on the other neglecting its private partners in power discoms and not doing any power supply infrastructure augmentation.
Vijender Gupta, leader of Opposition in the Assembly has said the Kejriwal Government is in connivance with private operators and has allowed them to short-purchase power. “The Chief Minister’s talk of scheduled and unscheduled power cuts by itself tells that he knows that there is a massive power crisis in the city which the Government’s negligence has allowed to precipitate,” said Gupta.
BJP leader RP Singh said that the Kejriwal Government has not only let down by callous non-attention to maintenance of power and water supply lines but the ruling party’s MlAs’ insensitive and atrocious behaviour towards the people coming with grievances further hurts them.
Senior BJP leader Arvinder Singh lovely said the Kejriwal Government has fooled the citizen on power subsidy. Earlier consumers across all sections got subsidy while today only a limited section is getting subsidy. Free water continues to be a dream for the people as taps run dry while hefty bills are being issued to consumers.
