Tearing into the Delhi Government over the fake law degree of Delhi law Minister Jitender Singh Tomar, Delhi BJP on Tuesday demanded the resignation of embroiled Minister and said that his election should be declared null and void. Calling him an insult to the judiciary, BJP will also launch a protest outside Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal’s residence on Wednesday demanding Singh’s dismissal.
Delhi BJP Pradesh president Satish Upadhyay and former MlA Nand Kishore Garg have said that Delhi BJP will demand the Election Commission that after the proof submitted firstly by Awadh University and now by Bhagalpur University that the educational degrees of AAP MlA and Minister Jitender Singh Tomar are forged his election should be declared null and void.
Upadhyay said that in his affidavit filed with nomination paper Tomar had declared that he has a Bachelor’s degree and also llB degree and now both these degrees have been proved to be forged. In such situation his continuance in office is not only immoral also illegal because under the elections laws not only the nomination could be cancelled for false
affidavit but if the candidate wins the election and it is proved that the affidavit was false, the then the Election Commissioner is competent to declare the election of winning candidate as illegal.
Upadhyay and Garg said that Arvind Kejriwal has got thousands of anti-corruption hoardings fitted in entire Delhi after spending crores. In these hoardings he is asking the people to get the corrupt persons punished by submitting video clips. Now when the proof of educational and political corruption in the case of Tomar has been submitted in the court his silence shows that he is protecting the corrupt Minister.
Dr Nand Kishore Garg said that he has been highlighting this high-handedness of Tomar through the media but now the High Court has ensured by appointing amicus curiae in this case that whatever efforts are made by the Delhi Government, Tomar cannot escape legal action.
