The BJP on Wednesday thanked the people of the national capital to making them win more than 100 seats in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) elections saying that Delhiites have voted for the party on their 15 years work.

However, the Congress accepted the mandate of the people and promises to work for the interest of the society. BJP National Spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla said even after 15 years, the party retained its vote share on the basis of its work.

The BJP's northeast Delhi MP Manoj Tiwari, in a tweet in Hindi, thanked the people of Delhi and party workers for showing faith by giving so many seats to the party for the fourth consecutive time. Praveen Shankar Kapoor, BJP spokesperson said that the party has retained its votes and the people of the Capital has showed so much support to us that after the three times anti incumbency, the saffron party managed to win 104 seats.

Meanwhile, Delhi Congress president Anil Kumar, while accepting the defeat, said that they fought the MCD elections based on the progress and development achieved during the 15-year Congress Government good governance in Delhi under Sheila Dikshit, and the Vision Documents the party had announced.

“Congress also exposed the corruption and failures of BJP’s 15-year misrule in the MCD, and Aam Aadmi Party’s corruption and misgovernance in the past eight years, but the both the parties, misusing power and money, tried to suppress it’s development agenda, as they spread lies and falsehood to mislead the people of the national capital,” said Kumar.
