A businessman in East Delhi received an extortion call on October 24. At first, businessman Kuldeep Sharma thought it to be a prank call. But he was terrified out of his wits when he got a second call from a man identified himself as notorious gangster Manjeet Mahal, currently lodged in Tihar Jail.

Manjeet Mahal asked him to “search for my name in google then you will know who I really am”.

As per the written complaint given by Kuldeep Sharma, who lives with his family in Shivam Enclave area in Jhilmil colony, he said, "On October 24, around 4.41 pm, I got a call from a number 98******64. Talking in a threatening tone, the caller said he is Manjeet Mahal and started saying he knows all about my activities and demanded `25 lakh cash. To this, I casually asked, who is Manjeet MahalIJ"

The complainant further stated, "The caller grew more serious and said "mera naam se google par search karo phir pata chalega. After this, the conversation ended. The caller had threatened me that I only have time till October 30 after which if I did not pay, he will kill me.”
