Thieves struck at the house of a sanitary inspector employed with the Ministry of Defence. Satish Mann’s Government accommodation in RK Puram was burgled on Sunday. The burglars managed to take away cash, gold jewellery worth Rs15 lakh. Police have registered a case of burglary at RK Puram police station. They are also examining the role of the victim’s daughter-in-law.
Mann and his wife had locked their home on Friday morning to go to a relative’s place in Rohini. They were aghast to find the doors to the bedrooms ajar. Mann stated before police that four gold sets, gold biscuits weighing 100 grams, other jewellery, some documents and Rs1.28 lakh in cash were missing from the flat. Mann accused his daughter-in-law and her four relatives for the heist. He told police his car was filched and a relative of his bahu had a hand in it.
