Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) seems to have started afresh another set of controversy after its MlAs have started making headlines with their volatile behaviour in public.
A day after MlA Sarita Singh was booked for misbehaving with a police officer; an FIR was filed against AAP MlA Sharad Chauhan, MlA from Narela constituency, for his alleged misbehaviour at a function in Outer Delhi’s Alipur area on Monday night.
On Tuesday, an FIR was lodged against Chauhan for misbehaving with the guests and family members at a marriage function, a police official said. However, the MlA has denied any such actions from his part and further complained that he was beaten up by a few family members present at the marriage. The truth is known to nobody till now, an officer said.
The incident took place when Chauhan was returning back from a function to his home in Bakoli village. He allegedly got into heated debate with some guests when his driver hit them while they were dancing in barat, said sources, adding that this led to a fight between the two.
Thakur Das, bride’s father, complained that they requested Chauhan to forget the incident but the MlA did not pay any heed to their pleas. He also said that MlA’s musclemen came over and started throwing chairs and tables decorated inside the marriage hall and beaten up the guests.
“We had to complete the rituals secretly in a small room as many guests left even before the varmala,” said Das. Our whole arrangement was spoiled due to the fight and all our guests had to leave in order to save themselves from the rash behaviour by those men, said Das.
Meanwhile, Chauhan narrated a different version of the story where he allegedly claimed that he was beaten up by the family members when his driver asked some guests to move their cars present on the way of the MlA’s car.
“We are investigating into the matter to know how the fight took place and who was behind the whole incident,” police official added.
