Parking vehicles at the IGI Airport is costlier now with Delhi International Airport limited (DIAl) increasing parking charges at both the domestic and international terminals.

Air travelers will now have to shell out Rs 80 for the first 30 minutes and Rs 160 up to two hours as against Rs 50 and Rs 100 respectively. The same charges will also be applicable at the multi-level car park facility at the international terminal and the general parking facility at the domestic terminal.

The parking charges, which were already very steep according to the air travelers, have been further revised. At the international terminal, additional Rs 80 charge will be levied per hour for parking the vehicle beyond from 2 to 8 hours. The revised rates will pinch hardest to those employed at the airport, as the daily charges (for a period of 24 hours); have been revised exorbitantly from Rs 600 to Rs 1,050. According to the DIAl’s website, the rates have come into effect since April 1, 2013.

The parking rates for the cars are same for the general parking facility at the domestic terminal, which is situated about 100 metres from the Terminal 1D (T1D). For two- wheelers, the daily parking charges are Rs 240 and Rs 20 up to 2 hours. A parking charge of Rs 10 will be levied, every hour for parking the two-wheeler beyond two hours, up to 8 hours. The charges will remain the same for two-wheelers for using the facility at Terminal 2.

“The parking charges at the international terminal have been revised for the first time, since the car park was inaugurated and is part of the concession agreement that provisions a hike every three years,” said a DIAl spokesperson.
