Having won the fortress in Delhi, the jubilant workers and supporters of the Aam Aadmi Party have set their eyes firm on the ensuing lok Sabha Polls. Their enthusiasm knew no bounds as they gathered at the party office at Hanuman Road in Connaught Place on Thursday where the AAP leaders announced the decision to contest the General Elections. They were equally elated over formation of their Government in the national Capital.
There was a huge turnout of party workers at Hanuman Road. “We are very happy. It is like a dream come true, we are really very excited over formation of our Government in Delhi. Our next goal is the Parliamentary Elections next year,” said Pushpa, a party worker.
As the swearing-in ceremony, is on its way the excitement in party workers is escalating day by day. Another party worker RP Singh said, “Yeh party nahi kranti hai (this is not a party but a revolution). We are here to celebrate the victory and repeat the same performance in future.”
They exuded hope that the AAP Government in Delhi will be a Government with change as it would clamp down on corrupt officials and streamline the governance for the benefit of the people. Advocate Ramesh Chandra Sharma, another AAP supporter said, “AAP will form a different Government; it will set an example not only for India but also for other countries, as it will wipe corruption.” Some others said the open-to-all oath taking ceremony at Ramlila Maidan on Saturday would also be an example as it would do away with the VIP culture prevalent in the society.
“There is no VIP passes or any special treatment for anyone. All will be equally treated. Sitting arrangement is on the basis of first come first serve basis and no special treatment will be accorded to anyone. It is the first step towards a new change and will be witnessed on the very first day of the formation of AAP Government,” they said.
