AAP's 70 manifestos to coalesce into one big idea

With a couple of days to go before AAP releases its official manifesto for the upcoming Delhi elections, the party has made it clear that, unlike the last time, they will not be taking out individual constituency manifestos.

According to a member of the party, there will only be one party manifesto that will be a culmination of all that the party has been saying through their Delhi Dialogues, the last edition of which was on Tuesday.

In 2013, all 70 candidates of the party had released individual manifestos which included the reforms they were to bring about in those constituencies. However, this time round, the party would not be doing that. Members of the party said that last year it was done to introduce AAP to the people of Delhi and reassure them on their vision for Delhi, but this time they didn’t need to do that since people now know them. “We didn’t want people to take us lightly when we put forward issues. We wanted them to know how serious we are about changing Delhi for the better. However, this time, we started our campaigning long back and have done intensive door-to-door campaigns. People know us now, so we don’t need to take out separate manifestos from each constituency,” said a party member.

AAP began their Delhi Dialogues right after the news of fresh elections broke out. These dialogues gave out blueprints of development in the city in various sectors like power, water, health, education, trade, etc. Additionally, the party is also taking out white papers on each of the issues which put down these agendas on paper.
