AAP would have been history but for 2013 Cong support, says Maken

The Congress’ Delhi unit on Thursday took a dig at the Aam Aadmi Party for not supporting its candidate in the Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman’s election, saying that AAP would have been “history” but for the Congress support in 2013.

“AAP says ‘politics not run on egos’. Yet Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is sulking because he didn’t get a call from Congress President Rahul Gandhi to seek support, thus helping the BJP. Using this logic, in 2013, the Bharatiya Janata Party would have formed the government in Delhi and AAP would have been history,” Delhi Congress chief Ajay Maken said in a series of tweets. His remarks came after AAP leader Sanjay Singh said that his party was expecting a call from the Congress President to seek support for B.K. Hariprasad’s candidature for the Rajya Sabha Deputy Chair’s post.
